n this piece, I confront my fears on a difficult climb in the desert near home. The steep cliffs and shadows were daunting and beautiful. The watercolor washes are a complementary contrast to the detailed lines of the drawing. I used this dichotomy to emulate the softness and harshness of the desert terrain.
